Director Ann Snyder Endorses Chief Jimmie Dotson and Dr. Dan Hannon for Township Board.

Dear Editor:

Jimmie Dotson and Dr. Dan Hannon are excellent choices for The Woodlands Township Director Positions 2 and 4. Our Township Board would benefit immensely from Jimmie Dotson’s nearly 20 years’ of experience in executive police leadership. He served as Houston Police Department’s Executive Assistant Chief, then Chief of the Chattanooga Police Department, and returned to Texas as Houston ISD Police Chief. Jimmie is competent to lead current law enforcement contract re-negotiations with Montgomery County, and then provide oversight on contract performance.

Jimmie actually designed and implemented the Law Enforcement Management Plan for The Woodlands Community Association back in 2005. Today, we still use that model. Importantly, Jimmie’s law enforcement insight is matched only by his humble servant’s heart.

Dan Hannon’s work ethic and leadership skills will be invaluable on the Township Board. Dan built Christ Church United Methodist, from the ground up, into a 4,000-member congregation on a 9-acre campus. For 30 years, Dan has been deeply immersed with Interfaith, Rotary, High School Quarterback Club and our hometown community life.

Dan believes a rush to incorporate will lead to massive tax burdens on our residents, and that we must preserve our Township. Dan has pledged to protect and enhance law enforcement. He affirms the Township Board’s main job is to control taxes and manage a budget, and will use his considerable fiscal experience to do just that. We need leaders on the Township Board who are both forward-thinking and level-headed. Jimmie Dotson and Dr. Dan Hannon have my wholehearted endorsement. Please help them join me on the Township Board.

Ann Snyder, Township Director Position 6, The Woodlands

Candidate Chief Jimmie Dotson Ret’d Would Bring 46 Years of Public Safety Experience to The Woodlands Township Board

The enhanced policing contract between the Township, Montgomery County, and Harris County is now a $13M+ budget item. Yet no Township Director has experience or training in policing or law enforcement. Chief Jimmie Dotson Ret’d brings 46 years of experience in law enforcement and public safety & will ensure The Woodlands invests to ensure we manage our public safety in the most cost efficient and effective manner.
